More info: This is support for the SMC9xxx based Ethernet cards. Choose this option if you have a DELL laptop with the docking station, or another SMC9192/9194 based chipset. Say Y if you want it compiled into the kernel, and read the file <file:Documentation/networking/device_drivers/ethernet/smsc/smc9.rst>. To compile this driver as a module, choose M here. The module will be called smc9194.
